Soho Speaks
The objective of the Soho Speaks campaign was to champion independent businesses in the Soho area to help support them during the 2020 national lockdowns. It was essential to push their online sales and get people excited about the variety of exciting independent businesses in Soho.
The Strategy
In order to create an emotional connection with the audience, it was established in the ideation phase that working with the business owners would create a sense of community and closeness between owner and consumer. I then developed this idea into a film and photography series under the campaign name of Soho Speaks. In pre-production, I arranged shooting times and locations for over 17 businesses and prepared insightful questions for them to be asked in the films. The shooting then took place over two days with a crew of myself, a videographer and a photographer.
In post-production, I briefed our graphic designer to create assets to give the campaign an identity which was then implemented into the design of the videos. The content was organically shared across the This Is Soho channels and all business owners involved were sent a social toolkit with their video and assets to promote the campaign on their own channels.
